How does Self Storage work?
Hiring a self-storage unit with Space Station is easy, and you’ll be moving your stuff in in next to no time. All of our units have secure PIN code access and are protected by CCTV, and most of our stores offer access 7 days a week. We can even do the heavy lifting for you thanks to our free* removal service!
Getting started is easy – just follow the simple steps below or give our friendly team a call. They’ll be happy to answer any questions you have!
Step 1: Select your Space Station store
We have stores in London, Thames valley, Birmingham and the Midlands, and we’re always expanding! Take a look at the full list here to find a Space Station store near you.
Step 2: Choose a storage unit and start date
Once you’ve chosen a store, your next step is to pick a storage unit. It can be tricky trying to envision just how much space you’ll need, so we’ve created a handy storage calculator to help you visualise it. If you’re still not sure, don’t worry. You can give our team a call, or even pop down to the store instead…
Step 3: Get a quick quote
You can reserve a storage unit online, or over the phone. We’ll take your details, including a requested start date, and provide you with a final price. If you’re happy, we’ll go ahead and reserve your space for you.
Step 4: Pack and transport your items
It’s time to start packing. Prepare your items for the move, and arrange transport. If you’re based within 10 miles of your Space Station store (or 5 miles for our North London branches) then you’ll instantly qualify for our free removal service. Just let us know if you’d like to take advantage of this offer, and we’ll send our professionals to your door. They’ll carefully transfer everything from your home directly into your storage unit for you.
Step 5: Move in
If you’ve decided to transport your items yourself, then we’ll meet you at the store. We’ll show you around, take you to our on-site store if you’d like to hire crates or pick up any extra packaging supplies and provide you with a unique PIN code for your unit. Then you can start unpacking, and you’ll be free to stop by at any time.
