When I was sixteen, I started helping out as a roadie for my cousin, who was a DJ. He used to let me play a few tracks, which really sparked my passion for music. My first official gig came when I was around twenty, DJing at Solihull Ice Rink. That experience led me into the mobile disco scene.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took the opportunity to expand my letter and number signs business into a broader events service. That’s when I rebranded the company as Light Up Your Party, and since then, it’s continued to grow.
Light Up Your Party is a diverse events company. We provide a wide range of entertainment and décor for occasions like weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. Some of our most popular hires include 360 booths, magic mirrors, and dance floors. We also offer traditional sweet treats like popcorn and candy floss, which are always a hit.
What I love most is the interaction with people. Being part of someone’s big day—especially weddings—feels special. And seeing adults’ faces light up at the sight of candy floss is a reminder that fun and joy are timeless. We always aim to add a personal touch to every event to make it truly memorable.
As the business started to grow, I literally ran out of space in my living room! It’s important to me that all our equipment stays in top condition, and I’m constantly adding to our inventory.
