Before you get started, grab some of these things from around the house (if you have them) to help with your Tupperware organisation:
First things first, have a sort through your existing Tupperware, taking out any broken containers or Tupperware you don’t want anymore. Recycle what you can – if you have any that are still in good condition, you can reuse them in the garden or other organisation around the house.
Your Tupperware can pile up if it’s in lots of different places around your kitchen. Pick a specific drawer or cupboard as your designated Tupperware space and only keep it there. This way, you’ll always know where to look for it and it’ll keep your collection from getting unruly.
To save a bit of space, stack your containers within each other, starting with the largest Tupperware and ending with the smallest. It’s really satisfying to do, and you'll avoid a cupboard full of mismatched, toppling boxes.
If you’re stacking your lids on top of each other, it can quickly become a wobbly lid tower. So, try standing them up on their side instead; they’ll dry better if any are still wet, and you can pull out the one you’re looking for without knocking the rest over.
If you’re storing your Tupperware in a drawer, dividers will be your new best friend. You can use them to separate your Tupperware by size or keep your lids tucked to their own area.
An old dish rack is the perfect organiser for Tupperware lids. It’ll create a tidy lid section in your Tupperware cupboard or drawer and make your lids even easier to access and pull out.
If you have plenty of Tupperware in different sizes or materials, stacking them by type will make it easier to find what you’re looking for. If you want your Tupperware cupboard to look a little more aesthetically pleasing, you could even organise by colour.
If you’ve got some spare baskets or storage tubs lying around, these can be really handy for grouping together your Tupperware. With them collated, your Tupperware drawer or cupboard will be much neater and easier to organise. As a bonus, tubs slide out well, so you won’t need to crouch and root around for what you need.
With a permanent marker and some sticky labels, you can also add some labels to your storage tubs to make it really clear what should go where and help you find what you’re looking for.
If you have any risers or shelf inserts, you can use these to create levels and extra room in your cupboard. This way you can fit more in, stack things on top of each other and keep lids and containers separate.
This is quite simple, but if space allows and you don’t have too many containers, try to keep the lids attached to their matching Tupperware. It’ll mean you’ll never have to struggle with finding matching sets again, as they’re already paired up.
Rubber bands are the perfect quick fix for keeping Tupperware lids together and tidy if you don’t have a spare dish rack or organiser. They can help you keep everything neat in your designated Tupperware space, whilst at the same time grouping together lids by size or type.

This will depend on the amount of Tupperware you have. If you’ve only got a small collection, storing them with their lids on can be a great way to make sure you’re not constantly searching for matching pairs. If you’ve got a larger collection, it’s better to store Tupperware nested within each other, with lids off and separate to keep them more organised.
There’s no set rule for how long to keep Tupperware, but there are some signs that it’s time to say goodbye to your containers. If your plastic Tupperware is always in and out of the microwave and dishwasher it can get warped quite quickly.
So, if it’s really stained, warped, broken, or has an odd smell to it, it’s best to get rid of it. If you want your Tupperware to last longer, try investing in some glass Tupperware, as these won’t warp and can be more hygienic.
There are a few things you can do to try to avoid Tupperware warping. Always use microwave-safe containers, and don’t microwave them for longer than they need. Also, if you have a dishwasher, try to keep your plastic Tupperware on a higher tier, as the heating components are at the bottom and can warp the plastic if it gets too close.
